Strawdog Theatre Company announces auditions for our production of HERSHEL AND THE HANUKKAH GOBLINS, based on the book by Eric Kimmel, adapted for the stage by Mike Dailey, directed by Noah Elman. A stage adaptation of the classic children's book, the show will use live music and shadow puppetry to tell the fantastical story of Hershel defeating a series of goblins over the eight days of Hanukkah. Performances will be in-person with a live streaming option for audiences.

Seeking non-AEA actors of all backgrounds for principal and understudy positions, and strongly encourage performers of all ethnicities, ages, sizes, genders, and abilities to submit. Due to the content of the show, we are especially interested in hearing from those who identify with or have a background in Jewish culture and/or faith.

We are looking to cast an ensemble of 6 principal actors and 6 understudy actors, made up of singers and instrumentalists, especially those who can play guitar, fiddle/violin, or clarinet. Special skills training/experience a bonus including but not limited to: shadow puppetry, devising, movement, clowning, magic, and other special skills.

Pay rate: $750 for both principal actors and understudies
