Description:

Dominican University Performing Arts Center is seeking non-Equity guest artists--actors/singers and actors/singers/dancers--for a live, in-person combination professional and student production of The PROM, music by Matthew Sklar, lyrics by Chad Beguelin, and book by Bob Martin and Chad Beguelin. Directed by Krista Hansen, musical direction by David Fiorello, and choreography by Dyanna Daniels.

Audition Date/Time: Accepting online submissions. Email: theatre@dom.edu

Please do not try to send uploaded material directly to this address; instead please email links to Vimeo, YouTube, Google Drive, Dropbox or other platforms where we can access your audition. Be sure to include any necessary passwords in the email. Submissions due no later than September 5, 2023. Callbacks: IN PERSON on 9/10 from 4-9pm (no one is called the whole time-specific times TBD). Dominican University, 7900 Division St. in River Forest, Lund Auditorium/Fine Arts Building. Audition Location: online submission; call backs on 9/10 in person on the Dominican campus.

Pay: Stipends for experienced professionals include a competitive per performance stipend plus a one-time rehearsal stipend.

Additional Information:
-The role of Dee Dee Allen has been cast; all other roles open.
-All cast and staff will be required to have the Covid-19 vaccine; Covid-Compliance Officer on site.
-Clear, repeatable, documented intimacy choreography will be used in congruence with boundary practices.
-We advocate inclusive casting, welcoming all identities of race, culture, gender, size, LGBTQ+, and are seeking a company of collaborators who engage in consent-based practices and honor artists as human beings.

Time Commitment:

Rehearsals: 9/20 - 11/1 (not held every day; schedule built around conflicts)

Weekly rehearsals include 6pm-10pm Sundays-Fridays, no rehearsal on Saturdays. Actors are not called for all times or for every rehearsal; the schedule will be very efficient and built upon conflicts provided at time of audition.

Tech: 11/2 - 11/9 (dark day TBD; NO 10 of 12!)

Actors with tech week conflicts may not be considered. Every effort will be made to keep tech efficient and keep all participants well.

Performances: 11/10 at 7:30pm; 11/11 at 7:00pm; 11/12 at 3:00pm

Material To Prepare:

Please email photo and resume and link(s) to the following: One 32-bar (approx. 1 minute each) song selection, plus either a 1-minute monologue OR additional 32-bar (approx. 1 minute each) song selection.
