CenterStage in Lake Forest theatre seeks IMMEDIATE replacements for the roles of Antonio and Alonso in its summer Shakespeare in the Parks production of THE TEMPEST.
SEEKING:
Two male or female actors, 30's to 50's.
THE TEMPEST is Shakespeare's late romantic masterpiece; an exploration of magic, love, betrayal, and family; containing some of Shakespeare's most brilliant observations on art and love.
ANTONIO - (May be male or female) Prospero's wicked, unnatural, and unrepentant brother or sister, led by evil ambition to usurp the dukedom of Milan and to "expel remorse and nature."
ALONSO - (May be male or female) Ruler of Naples; well-intentioned, but somewhat weak-willed; is capable of sincere remorse and true penitence; as mother or father of Ferdinand, he or she must be a sympathetic character, even though convinced to take part in the past crime against Prospero.
Pay: We pay a stipend plus a percentage of the show's profits.
COVID PROTOCOLS:
CenterStage in Lake Forest follows all current CDC and State of Illinois COVID protocols. All cast members must be fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19.
PERFORMANCES:
Performances are Saturday and Sunday afternoons at 4 PM in various North Shore Parks (Lake Bluff to Wilmette) from August 5th to September 10th.
REHEARSALS:
Rehearsals will be held via Zoom and in-person in Lake Forest; and are held 4-5 times a week until the August 4th. The rehearsal schedule will be constructed around actor conflicts so far as possible.

To audition, please send us a video of a Shakespeare monologue no more than two minutes in length. Monologues need not be memorized.
