SEEKING: Versatile Jewish Actress Age 40-55 to portray the roles of Lillian Miller, Dr. Wallace and Rabbi Ellis is the Staged Reading of As It Falls, a new work by Joshua Beasley on July 11th at the Chicago Dramatists
Must be comfortable compassionately portraying characters with addiction and movement.
Compensation: $75 stipend
Commitment: roughly 24 rehearsal hours at Northwestern University and 5p-10p on July 11th
About the show: Lighthearted college friends must navigate their own personal grief in order to be there for one of their own as his world and faith are turned upside down once his family gets into a fatal car accident.
There are many ways to deal with one's own grief, few are right yet none are wrong. However, when dealing with someone else's grief- be it a loved one or a stranger- navigating the storm can feel like walking on shattered glass. In this play, we explore the complexities of unexpected grief as it ripples through and challenges friendship, family and faith.
