Possibilities Theatre Company is thrilled to announce that we're accepting submissions for our upcoming UNEXPECTED CABARET- a cabaret entirely featuring songs that have an unexpected meaning!
Did you know Bonnie Tyler's "Total Eclipse of the Heart" is actually about vampires?
Or that Semisonic's "Closing Time" was really supposed to be about childbirth?
What about how Green Day's "Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)" is not really a graduation anthem, but a goodbye song for a girl moving to Ecuador?
The UNEXPECTED CABARET will act as a fundraiser for our upcoming summer production of William Shakespeare's MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING- Shakespeare's plays often have a lot of unexpected twists and turns, and we'd like to honor that spirit with a cabaret! This is a great chance to have some low-commitment, creative fun! Folks are welcome to sign up together if interested in dueting/small groups. Due to the nature of this event, we are unfortunately not able to offer compensation at this time.
No rehearsals at this time- just rehearse on your own, and show up, ready to rock and roll! The cabaret will be on Sunday, April 23rd at MyBuddy's Bar and Grill, 4416 N. Clark St. Performers will be called at 2:30 PM.
