Project TitleExplore Storytelling School Assemblies

Description:

Explore Theater is seeking submissions to fill ensemble roles for school assembly performances this spring. The project is Explore Storytelling, actors performing student-written stories in hour long performances. Think stories about bunnies, princesses, mysteries, shipwrecks, etc.

Looking for energetic, creative, clever actors with improv skills to work together to bring student written stories to life. It's physical acting, some improv, interacting with students and lots of fun!

We are accepting taped submissions.

Time Commitment:

Rehearsals: April 11, 13, 16, 17, 7pm- 10pm
Assembly: April 18 at 10:00AM at IL Lutheran School in Crete

Rehearsals: April 20, 23, 24, 7pm- 10pm
Assembly: April 25 at 7:00PM at Central Middle School in Tinley Park (Note the evening performance time. This is an "Author's Night" honoring student authors from the school district.)

All rehearsals are at The Atheneum Theatre, 2936 Southport Ave, Chicago

Actors carpool to the assemblies.

Contact Info:

Please submit a video audition with your headshot and resume ASAP, but no later than 3/31.

(You DO NOT have to be available for all of the assemblies to submit.)

Introduce yourself and explain why you're interested in this project.

Then, perform a special skill that would be appropriate and entertaining for young audiences at a school assembly. In the past, actors have recited the Pledge of Allegiance in foreign languages, juggled, done the splits, one-armed push-ups, sung opera, told jokes, split an apple in half with their bare hands, puppetry, played guitar, recited the alphabet backwards, solved the Rubic's Cube, etc.
