Description:

Saint Sebastian Players is seeking talented comedic actors to submit to round out the cast for their spring production of "It's Only a Play" by Terrence McNally. The production will be directed by Robert-Eric West.

A General Call will be held Wednesday, March 8 at 7:00 pm. We will cap our auditions at 10 people.
There will be no callbacks; the show will be cast on March 9 with rehearsals beginning March 13 at 7 pm.

SSP is one of the oldest continuously running Black Box theaters in Chicago staffed entirely with volunteers. There is no pay for this production and all cast members must provide proof of vaccination if cast. SSP encourages candidates of all races and gender identities.

Available roles and descriptions:

Julia Budder, a rich, first-time solo producer of Peter's play and hostess of the opening night party. Charmingly dotty but not very self-aware. (FP, 45-60)

Frank Finger, the young, egomaniacal, "genius" British (by way of New Jersey) director. (MP, 25-35. Requires 2 accents)

Ira Drew, savage, two-faced theater critic who is secretly a closet playwright with an agenda. (MP, 60 and up)

Gus P. Head, the coat-check boy, fresh off the bus, who aspires to be on Broadway. (MP, 20-30)
