Characters:

Malvolio (40s-60s) African American or BIPOC, must have outstanding comic timing, masterful command of language. An actor of the highest order.

Viola/Cesario: (mid 20's - 30's) An African, African-American, Afro-Caribbean, or Afro-Latinx woman who is charming, witty, enjoys language and uses it to express a wide emotional range.

Olivia: (mid 20's - late 30's) An African, African-American, Afro-Caribbean, or Afro-Latinx countess, beautiful and rich. Graceful, regal, and expressive, she is adamant about not falling in love - until she meets Cesario.

Sebastian: (mid 20's -30's) An African, African-American, Afro-Caribbean, or Afro- Latinx man; Viola's twin brother.

Maria: (mid 30's -mid 40's) A woman of color. Olivia's comedic gentlewoman. Clever, resourceful and in love with Sir Toby Belch.

Sir Toby Belch: (40's - 50's) A man of color. Olivia's riotous uncle. Falstaffian. A magnificent and comedic wit.

Sir Andrew Aguecheek: (30's - 40's) A man of any ethnicity. A foolish and comedic knight upon whom Sir Toby is sponging.

Orsino: (30's) African, African-American, Afro-Caribbean, or Afro-Latinx Duke of Illyria. Handsome, poetic and mercurial, full of passion.

Feste: (30's -40's) An African, African-American, Afro-Caribbean, or Afro-Latinx man or woman, Olivia's fool. Extremely witty, excellent singer and musician, and a strong mover. Could play an instrument.

Fabian: (30's) A man of color. Servant of Olivia who plots revenge against Malvolio.

Antonio/Sea Captain: (50's) A man or woman of color; friend of Sebastian and Viola.
