Now entering its eleventh season presenting outdoor Shakespeare in partnership with Chicago Park District, Midsommer Flight is accepting non-union actor submissions for its upcoming outdoor summer production of Cymbeline by William Shakespeare, directed by Producing Artistic Director Beth Wolf. Spend your summer outdoors and be a part of "Chicago summer entertainment at its finest" (Chicago Stage Standard).
As Midsommer Flight performs in diverse communities, we would like our cast to mirror the beauty of the neighborhoods that we perform in. Therefore, we encourage actors of all backgrounds to audition and are seeking an inclusive cast featuring folx of all body types, abilities, gender identities, and ethnicities. We are especially looking for performers who sing and/or play instruments.
We are looking to cast 13 principal actors and 5 swing/understudy actors.
Pay rate: $300 for both principals and understudies

Auditions: Self-tapes are due February 10 by 5:00pm CST.
Callbacks: In-person callbacks will be held February 24 (7-10pm) and February 26 (1-5pm) We will also provide a Zoom callback option on February 25 (3-5pm) for those who may be out of town or any other personal reasons.
This year, Midsommer Flight will be offering a callback stipend to every actor who attends their callback.
Rehearsal Run: May 22-July 4 on Monday - Thursday evenings and Saturdays during the day.
(NO rehearsal May 29, July 3, and July 4 for Memorial Day & Independence Day.)
Dress Rehearsals: July 5 at 12-5pm and July 6 at 12-5pm
Performances: July 7 - August 13, 2023 on Fridays & Saturdays at 6:00PM and Sundays at 2:00PM in various parks around the city of Chicago.
Pick Up Rehearsals: 2-3 understudy put-ins and/or pick-up rehearsals may be scheduled throughout the run as we transition to new parks. Exact dates are TBD but will be communicated on the production calendar.
