The Plagiarists are seeking an ensemble for their upcoming production of Arabia, Arabia! by Alexander Utz, directed by Jonathan Shaboo.

About the show:
It's 1761. Five researchers have been selected by the Danish government to travel to the Arabian peninsula, to "Happy Arabia." But the journey isn't as happy as its destination. The doctor is incompetent, the botanist is elitist, and the linguist has enough arsenic to kill them all. And that's hardly the worst of it. When the Narrator appears and tries to save the expedition from certain failure, the researchers begin to realize that their story may not belong to them anymore. The Plagiarists require all artists working with us to be fully vaccinated. Initial auditions will be by self-tape. We will contact actors about callbacks by January 23rd for callbacks taking place the weekend of January 28th.

Characters:

NARRATOR - (Middle Eastern / open gender) The greatest explorer of them all, has a longing and a drive to find the answers

NIEBUHR - (BIPOC / female, non-binary, gender non-conforming) Grounded, sees behind the curtain, takes no bullshit

VON HAVEN - (White / male) Entitled, whiny, boyish. A real Bobby Newport

FORSSKAL - (BIPOC / male) Strong work ethic - in fact, it's probably a little TOO strong, definitely has something to prove

BAURENFEIND - (Any race / female, non-binary, gender nonconfirming) A cut-up with a secret sweet side, a bit of a whirlwind

KRAMER - (Any race / male) Incompetent but endearing, a sweet dolt, here to make friends
