Description:
Riverfront Playhouse is seeking actors for its spring production of The Moors by Jen Silverman, a dark comedy about love, desperation, and visibility. All roles are open. There is no pay. Directed by Sean Hargadon. Produced by Aaron Hoge.
WHEN: Sunday, Jan. 22, and Monday Jan. 23 in the evening by appointment. Actors need only attend one day.
If needed, callbacks on Wednesday, Jan. 25 at 7pm.
WHERE: Riverfront Playhouse, 11 - 13 Water St, Aurora, IL 60505.
Seeking four female identifying actors and one male identifying actor for the following roles:
Agatha: Female, 40s-50s - Elder spinster sister, spidery, dangerous, cold.
Hudley: Female, 30s-40s - Younger spinster sister, vulnerable and hopeful and deeply depressed. She has a diary. She wants to be famous.
Emilie: Female, 30s - The governess. A romantic with a sweet face.
Marjory: Female, 30s-40s - The scullery maid. Downtrodden, strategic.
The Mastiff: Male, 30s-60s - The dog. A sad philosopher king.
A Moor Hen: Female, 30s-40s - A small chicken. Practical and very present tense.
Rehearsals begin in early February running three/four dates per week and some weekends. This will increase closer to opening.
Performance dates: March 17 - April 15, 2023: Friday and Saturday at 8pm with the Sunday matinees on March 26 and April 2 at 2pm
