Description:

Amelia - a young witch in training - becomes roommates with three, uh, unusual witches. Amelia's, father, a very important bank man, is demanding backpay for the mortgage. Can the witches put together a variety show in time to save the house? Will Amelia learn magic? Was the bog just a metaphor for the friends we made along the way?

All characters can be played by any race or ethnicity

Character breakdown:

Amelia: (20-30, Female identifying) A young and slightly naive woman in search of community and magic

Walter: (40s, Male identifying) Amelia's father, one minute a mild-mannered and pleasant man, the next minute a dark lord of business.

Harah: (50-60, Female identifying) A Witch! The head witch. She can be a little grumpy but is very protective of those she loves.

Shirah: (50-60, Female identifying) A Witch! Kindly, (think of your Jewish grandmother). Shirah thinks soup can cure anything. Suffering from dementia.

Griselda: (50-60, Female identifying) A Witch! Griselda thinks that stripping can cure anything. She is a witch with a can-do spirit.

Menocchio: (20s-30s) Griselda's dead husband, reanimated as a puppet. This track will voice/play assorted ensemble characters as well. Puppetry skills are a plus but not required.

There is a stipend of $150+ per actor

Time Commitment:

Rehearsals will take place Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings, and some weekends in February and March, based on availability.

Performances are Thursday, Friday at Saturday with a 6:30 PM call time, March 23rd to April 22nd.

Callbacks, rehearsals, and performances will all take place at Cornservatory at 4210 N Lincoln Ave. Chicago, IL 60618
