Description:
Campsongs Productions is now accepting submissions for the premiere production of House Musical - Coming Of Age In The Age Of House, with book by Marcus Waller and music by Scott Free.
House Musical is the story of Dwayne, a young man growing up on the South Side of Chicago in the late 1970's, who finds the strength to come out of the closet by sneaking into the Warehouse nightclub, where House Music is emerging as a new musical genre.
In-person audition dates and locations:

CHARACTER ROLES:
Dwayne - Good-hearted, reserved, struggling to come out of the closet.

Riley - Dwayne's friend. Proud, flamboyant, determined musician.

Margaret - Dwayne's mother. Stubborn, strong-minded , family-oriented, set in her ways.
- Ethnicity: Black/African descent.

Tomella - Dwayne's friend - Innocent, sings in church, protective of Dwayne.
- Ethnicity: Black/African descent.
- Female-identifying, reads age range 18-35.

REHEARSAL SCHEDULE:
One or two, solo or duo song rehearsals (depending on role) - March 5th to March 18 -day/time scheduled with musical director.

Rehearsals March 19th - April 16th (there can be some flexibility to accommodate scheduling conflicts).

Auditions will consist of performing 1 minute of a song, reading sides from the script, and a choreography audition for appropriate roles. Sides will be sent with the scheduling email. An accompanist will be available on Saturday (please bring sheet music) - we will also have a bluetooth speaker available.
