Description:
Chicago Youth Shakespeare is seeking up to 18 young actors (ages 14-19) for the 2022-23 CYS Ensemble, Chicago's only professional, all-teen Shakespeare company!
CYS is also seeking up to FIVE youth artists (ages 14-19) to work behind the scenes as part of the Ensemble! All CYSE artists, whether acting on the stage or contributing behind the scenes, will receive a stipend and professional credit for their work. Artists from the following disciplines are encouraged to apply:
MUSIC / COMPOSITION / SONGWRITING
POETRY & SPOKEN-WORD
VISUAL & DIGITAL MEDIA ARTS
DANCE & CHOREOGRAPHY
FILMMAKING / PHOTOGRAPHY
PRODUCTION DESIGN (costume, set, lighting, or sound design)

Stipend: $200
Callbacks (in-person) will be held November 12-14, 2022 at The Greenhouse Theater Center
Full Company rehearsals will begin on Monday, January 2, 2023
Opening: Romeo and Juliet will open on February 17, 2023 at Center on Halsted's Hoover-Leppen Theatre
A Shakespeare monologue (any play/role/gender) that is approximately 1-2 min long.
