Description:
Improv Playhouse is seeking actors for its winter touring production of Shakespeare Shakedown!
From the Director:
"Five of Shakespeare's most iconic characters - each from different worlds - come together in this chaos of classics as they tell each story from their perspectives! The rest is going to be up to us-the company-to devise. We will be using props, costumes, puppets, stage combat, movement, songs, and more to instill excitement about the Bard to students. From the bloody to the bawdy, we'll create a show that will rev them up to read the repertoire!"
CASTING BREAKDOWN
This ensemble will consist of five energized, devising-enthused, chaotically quirky actors with a penchant for big personality and big physicality! And of course, a love of the Bard never hurts.
PAY RATE
All actors will receive a $100 rehearsal stipend, as well as an additional $40 per performance.* Travel stipends may also be provided.
*The number of shows will depend on demand and availability, though we expect to have a busy season.
Touring performances will take place across Chicagoland (carpool potentially available). Rehearsals will take place at Otherworld Theatre (Chicago, IL).
Actors will be contracted from early-November (2022) - April (2023) with a four-day-a-week, daytime rehearsal process beginning November 1st. For touring performances, actors must have at least two morning/midday availabilities a week. These rehearsals and performances will be scheduled around actor availability. Copious breaks will be provided for holidays.
