The Candlelight Theatre is seeking dynamic, non-union, singers, actors, and dancers, of all types, and ethnicity for its upcoming production of Sister Act directed by Lauren Hope Gates, choreographed by Katharina Muniz with Musical Direction by Anthony Vitalo.  Sister Act is a musical based on the hit 1992 film of the same name with music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Glenn Slater, book by Bill and Cheri Steinkellner. Rehearsals will start approximately Monday, November 28, 2022 thru January 20, 2023. The production runs January 21 – February 26, 2023

Candlelight is accepting pictures and resumes for the upcoming productions of I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change (March 18 – April 23) by Joe DiPietro and Jimmy Roberts (Director – Jody Anderson) and The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940 (May 13 – June 25) a murder-mystery comedy by John Bishop (Director – Micki Sharp).

The Candlelight Theatre is a professional Dinner Theatre located in Ardentown, Delaware, approximately 25 minutes outside of Philadelphia. Paid performances with between 3-5 performances per week. Additional restaurant opportunities, if desired, are available to supplement performance income.

SISTER ACT Character Breakdown

Deloris Van Cartier -An aspiring performer, trying to find both fame and a place in the world. When forced to hide in the convent, she initially refuses to embrace her new lifestyle but learns to embrace it when she works with the choir. Loud-mouthed, and sassy, but ultimately caring.

Sister Mary Robert - A postulant, abandoned as a baby and raised at the convent. Shy and soft-spoken, but singing with Deloris lets her find her voice. Her wallflower lifestyle has made her live a shell of a life.

Sister Mary Patrick - A nun of the convent. Consistently perky, enthusiastic, and easily excitable.

Sister Mary Lazarus - A nun of the convent and the head of the choir. Rather deadpan and the least welcoming of any of the nuns, but she gets caught up in Deloris's soul music.
