Synopsis:
“Eternal Verity” is short film about a young Army veteran who has been out of the service for one year. His life is full of alcoholism, anger, depression, and unemployment. He feels great animosity towards the world he lives in. When Chad is arrested for several misdemeanors, he is sentenced to community service at a veteran’s home. While serving his community service time at the veterans home, he meets an old Vietnam veteran who attempts to help him deal with the lingering effects of war.
CHARACTER BIOS:
[CHAD] [GENDER: MALE] [AGE: 24-32]
Chad is an Army veteran who served three combat tours. His life is full of alcoholism, anger, depression, and unemployment. Chad has become a man of few words since returning home, virtually shutting completely down emotionally. He is struggling to adjust to civilian life, when he meets a Vietnam veteran named Walt who might be able to help him.
[WALT] [GENDER: MALE] [AGE: 60-70] [WEIGHT: Under 190 lbs, unless tall]
Walt is a retired Vietnam veteran dying of cancer in a Veterans home. He is very stubborn, but still very logical. Walt knows his days are numbered, and tries to make the most of each one. He finds meaning in his life again when he meets Chad. During their time together, Walt begins to see the war torn side of himself in Chad.
[NURSE SWENSON] [GENDER: FEMALE] [AGE: 35-50]
Nurse Swenson is Walt’s main nurse at the Veterans home. She runs an extremely tight ship, and doesn’t take any gruff from the war hardened vets who make up her patients. She is always in the now in her section. She has formed a special relationship with Walt, but does not show her fondness for him publically.
