ABOUT THE SHOW:
Based on the classic cult film, Night of the Living Dead! The Musical! (book music and lyrics by Jordan Wolfe), had a critically acclaimed hit Off-Broadway premiere in 2019 at Theatre Row, starring Smash alum Jaime Cepero. The album is produced by Wolfe and James Morgan and features the entire cast from the world premiere production. An award-winning music video featuring the original cast members of one of the more popular songs from the show, "They're Coming to Get You Barbara", was released late last year.
CAST OF CHARACTERS
ADDA MORGUE: (Non-singing role) Perky female reporter.
BARBARA: Sop/Belt to E; Straight-laced, polite, Long Island accent. Her cheery disposition soon gives way to terror.
BEN: Tenor; Non-Caucasian. Our hero. Smooth and super charming. Action movie swagger. Cocky but loveable.
BETTY-LOU: Mezzo/Belt to C; Harry and Helen's adorable 10 y/o daughter who later becomes a vicious rock star zombie.
DAN THE SCIENCE MAN: Bill Nye-esque NASA scientist, later a zombie.
DR. GRETCHEN: (Mezzo) A serious German medical examiner.
DR. GREISHEN: (Mezzo) A serious German medical examiner.
HARRY: Baritone; Grumpy, stubborn Archie Bunker-type, father to Betty-Lou and husband to Helen.
HELEN: Mezzo; Loud, drunk wife to Harry, mother to Betty-Lou.
HOLDEN D’SEANCE: (Non-singing role) A no-nonsense Walter Cronkite-type newscaster. Later a zombie.
JOHNNY: Tenor; Barbra’s wise-cracking older brother.
JUDY: Mezzo/Belt to C; A cheerful young hippy, girlfriend to Tom.
ROBIN GRAVES: Mezzo/Belt to C, mix to D; An overly cheerful radio announcer, all showbiz.
SHERIFF TRACTOR: Baritone or Tenor; Wild Southern sheriff, a heartthrob Yosemite Sam.
TOM: Tenor; Innocent teen, boyfriend to Judy.
ZOMBIE #1: Baritone or Tenor; A fearsome zombie.
