Callbacks: Wednesday, August 31st @ 6:30pm, by invitation only
Rehearsals: Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings, with a few Saturday afternoons mixed in throughout the process.
Performance Dates: December 2, 3, 4, 7, 9, 10, 11, 14, 16, 17, 18

The Ritz Theatre Company is currently seeking a diverse cast for our upcoming production of SHE LOVES ME. For the audition, actors should prepare a 16-32 bar cut of a song in the style of the show.

THE STORY

Set in a 1930s European perfumery, we meet shop clerks, Amalia and Georg, who, more often than not, don't see eye to eye. After both respond to a "lonely hearts advertisement" in the newspaper, they now live for the love letters that they exchange, but the identity of their admirers remains unknown. Join Amalia and Georg to discover the identity of their true loves... and all the twists and turns along the way!

THE CHARACTERS

LADISLAV SIPOS: A company man. Not the brightest employee at Maraczek's Parfumerie. A confidant to Georg, he is an optimistic family man who worries about keeping his job. He is 45, but looks older. Baritone.

ARPAD: At age 15, Arpad expects to be an important businessman one day. Delivery boy at Maraczek's Parfumerie. His exuberance is infectious and he loves his bicycle. Tenor/Baritone.

ILONA RITTER: A wisecracking, sexy, thirtyish salesgirl at the Parfumerie who gives the impression of a girl who’s been around. Comedienne. Mezzo-Soprano, Belter

STEVEN KODALY: A salesclerk at the Parfumerie who is a handsome, dapper, shallow opportunist in his mid–to–late 20s. Tenor.

GEORG NOWACK: A longtime employee of Maraczek's Parfumerie, he is a hopeless romantic. Shy, intelligent, and soft spoken. Tenor/Baritone.

MR. MARACZEK: Owner of Maraczek's Parfumerie. He’s an approachable boss, but stern if needed. Completely dedicated to his wife. Baritone.

AMALIA BALISH: The eager new clerk at Maraczek's Parfumerie. Despite being a skilled saleswoman, she easily becomes intimidated and nervous. Attractive, bright, and a lover of literature. Soprano.

ENSEMBLE: A small ensemble of shoppers, a private detective, waiters and restaurant goers.
