A woman wakes up one morning, compelled to follow her intuition, decided to change her way of living, and live radically for The Lord. She would re-affirm her radical living idea after reading an article about children starvation, homelessness, oppression of the poor, suicidal rates on the rise due to poverty, and just to name a few. Then she read at the very bottom of the article in bold letters “To live is Christ, and to die is gain”. She continued to spend endless time researching what it truly meant. Eventually, she would meet with an acclaimed church pastor who finally enlightened her with the meaning of the phrase. She says to the pastor “I am destined to be a Radical Activist”. This is my calling – to live for Christ. Then she pleaded with the pastor to baptize her and shortly began packing her belongings. As the day progressed, she was deemed to finally share the details with her husband. She says “my love, I have decided to get out of my comfort zone and radically fight to change the world for the better. Lost by her words, her husband finds himself in an utmost state of confusion. His reply, what do you mean? I am called to live radically for Christ, she says. I want to make a difference in peoples’ lives. Her husband replies with, how do you propose doing that? I would travel around the world, help the poor, donate my time to the hospital, learn and preach the gospel, and save many souls in this dying world. His reply, you’re nuts! Let me know when you wake up and head back down into reality. The reality is now, she replied. She started packing some of her belongings inside a little bag. Her husband would do everything in his power to discourage her. He poses a series of questions. What about our little precious daughter? Who would take care of her? What about the other half of the mortgage? Who will take care of your car notes? Where do you plan to live? Do you even have enough money for these trips? My sister would assist you with taking care of our daughter while I’m gone. All the other stuff is only materialistic and meaningless. I can’t take any of those things with me when I die, she replied. He exclaimed to her, this is pure madness! How much time do we have? I leave tomorrow, she replied. He simply shakes his head and storms off. A year later, he decided to join her in a concentration camp. She was out preaching the gospel to wounded victims and assisting them with first-aid care. She was extremely excited to reunite with her husband. You don’t have to do this with me, she mentioned. I miss you so much and couldn’t stay away from you, he replied. Shortly, a group of rebels marched in and seized her and her husband. You have been warned not to preach the gospel to our people, but you have clearly disobeyed our orders.
