Description:
A short film which explores the concept of the Internet and social interaction, aims to make a statement about the world of technology we now live in. Is it ever possible to escape?
Arthur Lawson wishes to remove himself from the Internet, after meeting the Internet himself and some hard persuasion, his existence is removed. However he soon realises that a world without the Internet is not quite as good as it seems. He rushes back to the Internet in the hope his actions can be reversed, but the Internet is gone. He soon realises that he is the new Internet, a computer instructs him his training starts now.
Genre: Drama
Themes: Internet/Viral Culture, freedom, power, Individual vs. Society.
Filmed by Hourglass Productions and I.AM.NERD Media in Southampton and Basingstoke (expenses covered for successful applicants). The filming and preparation dates will be between the 10th of April and the 10th of May. The project is the final project produced by the group and is expected to be high quality. Arthur: One of the two main characters of the film.
Arthur Lawson is a 28 year old, he is a humble man with a sense of humour, quite the average Englishman. He's single and he prefers tradition over modern developments, Arthur craves normality and routine.
Personified Internet: One of the two main characters of the film.
The Internet is a middle-aged man, between 35 and 60. Possibly thin, in fair physical condition. Dresses in a smart casual shirt and suit jacket, imperfect hair. He has a wry smile, a good poker face, not quite as slick as an MI5 spy, yet just as skilled.
Charlotte: Small female role
Ex-girlfriend of Arthur.
Charlotte's Boyfriend: Small male role
New boyfriend of Charlotte, Arthurs ex.
