Adventure Stage Chicago is now accepting submissions from non-Equity talent for their upcoming production of Ghost.

Middle schooler Castle Cranshaw, who prefers the nickname Ghost, knows what it means to run like your life depends on it. When he makes an elite middle school track team, Ghost finds something to run for instead of away from. The past isn't the only thing that haunts Ghost; but staying on the team means staying out of trouble. With encouragement from Coach and the support of his teammates, can he find a way to stay on track?
An adaptation of the popular novel by Jason Reynolds, Ghost uses humor, wit and friendship to face traumas of the past.

GHOST/CASTLE: 13 Years old. Fast moving, fast witted. AA Male.

The Defenders -
SUNNY: Young, AA Male. Also plays Brandon, the school bully
PATINA: Young, AA Female. Also plays Monique & Shamika, classmates
LU: AA Male with Albinism.

The Grown-Ups -
COACH: 30s AA Male. Former runner, Cab driver, Father (figure). Also plays Ghost's father.
TERRI: 30s AA Female. Ghost's mother. Hospital Employee. Also plays Mrs. Hollow & Tia from Everything Sports.
MR. CHARLES: 40s/50s White Male. James Brown, if James Brown was White. Also plays Principal Marshall and other roles.

Compensation: All actors are paid a $250 rehearsal stipend plus $150 per week for tech and performances.

Time Commitment:
First Rehearsal: March 1, 2020
Tech: April 6-14, 2020 (weekday daytime availability required)
Performances: April 15-May 14, 2020 (weekday daytime availability required)
