Description:
Showgirls! The Musical! is a musical parody of the cult classic film Showgirls. This spoof comedy follows the beautiful drifter with a secret past, Nomi, as she goes from stripper to showgirl in Las Vegas. What will Nomi have to give up on her rise to fame? Who will she sleep with along the way? Will she ever like brown rice and vegetables?
From the production company behind the successful off-Broadway hit Bayside! The Musical! (The Saved by the Bell Musical)
Bob and Tobly McSmith, writer-dir.; Medium Face Productions, exec. producer; Rehearsals begin late February 2013.
All characters must be able to sing and dance. Excellent comedic timing is a must.
Auditions will be held on 2/3/13 and 2/5/13. Send headshot and resume to showgirlsthemusical@gmail.com. Please indicate which character or characters you are auditioning for and note if you have any special skills that would make you invaluable to the production. You will be asked to prepare a song and read from sides.
Production will run for 15 shows in April with a possible extension at the Kraine Theatre in downtown NYC. Some pay.
