Description:
Seeking 8 female-identifying actors for an all-female production of Measure for Measure by William Shakespeare. Several actors will play multiple roles. All roles are Open-Ethnicity.
Synopsis: When the Duke takes leave of Vienna, he leaves his charge to the seemingly stalwart Angelo. Angelo enforces laws of chastity landing Claudio in jail. Claudio reaches out to his sister, Isabella, who is preparing to be a nun. He asks her to persuade Angelo to release him. When Isabella confronts Angelo, he offers her a scandalous ultimatum. The Duke, disguised as a friar, helps Isabella to discover Angelo's misdeeds.
Time Commitment:
Rehearsal Dates and Times: August 20-24th, 26-30th, Sept. 3-7th, 9-14th, 16-18th Monday-Friday 6-10PM, Occasional Saturday rehearsals from 2-5PM
Performance Dates: September 19-21, September 26-28
Material To Prepare:
Bring a headshot/resume. Prepare one 1-2 minute Shakespeare monologue in verse.
