Description:

Eclectic Full Contact theatre is seeking submissions for their upcoming prodcution of RICHARD III by William Shakespeare.

Before the Game of Thrones, there was this masterpiece.
Will Richard stop at nothing to reach the pinnacle of power? Will he act unethically, unlawfully? Deceive, seduce, even commit murder? Come on, you think George R.R. Martin invented this stuff? Meet the unlikely man who schemed so cleverly (and bloodily), we're still talking about him today.

Auditions are July 21st 11am-1pm, and July 22nd-24th 6:30-10:30pm at the Athenaeum Theatre in Studio 1 2936 N Southport.

Actors will receive a stipend of $150 for the run of the show. The role of Richard has been cast.

Available roles and character breakdown is as follows.

-Queen Elizabeth/Ensemble. Age 35-45. Female identifying, open ethnicity

-Queen Margaret/Ensemble. Age 45-60 Female identifying, African American/Latinx

-Buckingham/Ensemble. Age 20+. Non-binary. Open ethnicity

-Clarence/Lord Mayor/Ensemble. Age 30-50. Male identifying. Latinx/Asian

-Dorset/Ensemble. Age 18-30. Open to all gender expressions, Open Ethnicity

-Rivers/Ensemble. Age 18+.Open to all gender expressions, Open Ethnicity. We are seeking a disabled actor for this role

-Gray/Ensemble. Age 18-30. Open to all gender expressions, Open Ethnicity

-Lady Anne/Ensemble. Age 20-30. Female identifying. Open Ethnicity

-Duchess of York/Ensemble. Age 45+. Female identifying. Open Ethnicity

-Ratcliffe/Ensemble. Age 18+. Open to all gender expressions, Open Ethnicity

-Catesby/Ensemble. Age 18+. Open to all gender expressions, Open Ethnicity

-Hastings/Ensemble. Age 30+.Open to all gender expressions, Asian/Latinx

-Stanley/Ensemble. Age 40+. Open to all gender expressions, African American/Latinx.

-Brackenbury/Ensemble. Age 20+. Male identifying. Open Ethnicity

-Richmond/Ensemble. Age 18+. Open to all gender expressions, Open Ethnicity, We are seeking a disabled actor for this role.

-4 Ensemble roles. Various characters of varying ages including some male identifying.

Time Commitment:
Rehearsals begin on August 12th and Monday, Wednesday, Thursday evenings 7pm-11pmand Saturday afternoons 12pm- 6pm at the Broadway United Methodist Church. Tech runs from September 23rd to September 30th with Previews beginning October 1st and Press opening October 4th. The show runs until Novemeber 3rd.
