Caleb Genheimer, senior undergrad at Bethel University/NYCAMS, Producer/Director casting Alex: a 15 minute senior project short film. All positions are unpaid, but production will be catered.

Alex,a 10-year-old kid with ambitions to learn guitar. Alex's father just wants Alex to work the family grocery store, leaving little time for learning an instrument. Encouraged by an employee, Alex tries to learn guitar, putting father and child in direct conflict over respect, duty, and tradition. Production will take place on a handful of weekend dates in October.

Seeking-- Alex: 9-13yrs old, a very energetic almost-teen, curious and passionate, but sometimes disrespectful and stubborn. Alex is the man character and will be cast primarily based on acting ability and age. Alex can be a boy or girl character.

Seeking-- Saul: 40-50, Alex's father, Saul is concerned with keeping his business afloat and with providing for his child. Saul will be cast based on acting ability and resemblance to Alex (real-world parents of children auditioning for Alex are welcome to audition too).

Seeking-- Jack: 30-60, employed as a mechanic for Saul, Jack is a role model for Alex, the person who gives Alex a guitar. Jack has an urge to be a father figure.

Seeking-- Mr Bennet: 50-60, Mr. Bennet is the store landlord, who needs the rent money from Saul.

Casting auditions will be held on the 30th of September and the 6th of October at 44w 28th St., New York, NY 10001 (Chelsea, Manhattan.)
