Description:
Feature film: "Lost & Found in L.A." (working title)
We are looking to cast a female lead character to offset the male lead.
The female lead should be a strong expressive actress/dancer with experience in ballet, modern, & jazz (there may be several types of choreographers to work with, so a variety of dance styles is good to have). Improvisational and Contact Dance skills are also a plus. Must be able to showcase a strong awareness in both body and facial features that are emotionally connected and honest in it's approach. Though this is not a film with dialogue and is a dance film, acting ability is a strong part of this film, and is key to the role. An ability to be quirky and a sense of innocence (as she is new to LA) are important. She can be naive at moments but can also have her own strength and self confidence/defiance.
Mid twenties to mid thirties age range.
Film Synopsis:
The male character (played by Roger Fojas) is a quirky bohemian artist type, who wakes up disheveled on the beach in Venice with a damaged cell phone realizing he is supposed to pick up with his love interest, the female lead (which we are looking to cast), who is coming to visit him, from Union Station in half an hour. Both without cars and access to modern day communication with each other, struggle throughout the day to 'find' one another via the landscapes we know as Los Angeles, stumbling through a myriad of obstacles along the way. But in this world everything is seen through the experience of dance.
Audition will be held August 15th 2012. Please send your Headshot and Resume and/or Reel to info@skyevonderosten. We will schedule a time with you to come in on the 15th.
We look forward to meeting you and seeing you dance!
