CAMMIE | Female | Any Ethnicity | 6-10 | CAMMIE/SUPPORTING/FEMALE/9-11. Jane’s 9-year-old daughter. Outgoing, mischievous, happy, inquisitive, talkative; a little charmer and tomboy who wins Jeremy’s heart with her personality and “infectious grin.” |
CLAY | Male | Any Ethnicity | 31-40 | CLAY/SUPPORTING/MALE/28-40. This is actually two characters in one. In “Real Life,” Clay manages Jeremy’s company and worships wealth. He is shallow with an easy, masculine charm. He’s a womanizer, specializing in one-night stands and empty relationships. In Jeremy’s “Dream Life,” Clay is a high-school counselor, married, faithful, and fulfilled living a simple life. |
JANE | Female | Any Ethnicity | 31-40 | JANE/SUPPORTING/FEMALE/28-40. This is actually two characters in one. In “Real Life,” Jane is Jeremy’s and Cherilyn’s maid, plain, somber, obedient, stoic, almost robotic. In Jeremy’s “Dream Life,” she is joyful, witty, married to Jeremy, and mom to Cammie |

JEREMY BYRNES | Male | Any Ethnicity | 31-40 | JEREMY BYRNES/LEAD/MALE/28-40. A prominent business tycoon. As the story is told through Jeremy’s eyes, he carries the play and is on stage continuously. Jeremy is hard-working, charming, confident yet vulnerable, married to a woman he adores, nervous around children, at a crossroads in his life, unfulfilled, seeking for answers. Must be empathetic from the start for the audience to be pulling for him. |
