Description:
Dark comedy about 3 roommates trying to navigate through life while having mental health issues.
Breakdown:
| Role Name | Gender | Ethnicity | Age Range | Description |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| JAY DEMPER | Male | Any | 28-38 | Jay is constantly in the manic phase of bi polar. He is over the top and does the most impulsive things, like throwing eggs at people that he, for whatever reason, doesn't like. He lives on the edge. He is a wild card and has been in the psyche unit many times. He has 2 roommates: one has substance abuse problems and the other one ( his best friend) suffers from crippling depression and wants to become a successful motivational speaker. Production states: "Think about this character as a mix of George and Kramer from 'Seinfeld' but on steroids, or Dennis and Charlie from 'Sunny in Philadelphia.' Preferably caucasian male late 20s, early 30s. Preferably shorter than 5'6" and odd and unique looking like Jon Baggio or Noel Petok (Google them). It has to be an unusual look that will stand out. This is not a 'crazy' stereotype person. You must be able to read between the lines and understand motifs, impulses, nuances, have basic intelligence about character bio etc. Absolutely no stigmas here. You gotta be fully committed to this complex character and his shenanigans. You can't half ass this. You have to be serious about acting and character work/development. If you're chosen then I will obviously give you a lot of background and material to work with. Just be committed and a cool person. Odd and unique is preferred." |
| Homeless Man | Male | Any | 28-50 | speaking role. The homeless man has an interaction and short dialogue with the lead actor on the street. This homeless man is also a heroin shooting guy (not in the scene) and is offended when he thinks Billy (the lead) assumes that he is heroin junky because he is homeless. |
