Description:
Haven Theatre is seeking submissions for a production in the 2019 Director's Haven! HOW YOU KISS ME IS NOT HOW I LIKE TO BE KISSED by Dan Giles. Director: AJ Schwartz
(they/them) About the Show:
X and Y are a straight couple. They meet, move in together, fall in love, fall out of love. Just like any other straight couple. But is this pattern the nature of romance, or does heteronormativity and the gender imbalance that sustains it do irreparable damage to the love we can have for each other?
Characters:
X - Creative. Grappling with sadness. Uses her art to process her emotions. Grounded and knows herself very well. This role will be played as a woman but the actor is a man.
Y - Sensitive for a cis-het man. Feels his needs are more important than the needs of X. This relationship favors him in a lot of ways. This role will be played as a man but the actor is a woman.
