I feel this is an extremely well written work. A dramatic musical with soul, heart, and humor dealing with a very prevalent subject matter. The family dynamic vs personal struggle and self-definition is something that all of us face. The music is well written and very attainable while still having interest. The book provides great opportunity for actors to dig deep without ever coming off schlocky or heavy handed. When done well, you cannot leave having seen this work without being changed and I feel we have the ability to share something very special with our audiences and actors. This is the kind of piece that separates the Drama Group from other community theatres and we are looking for actors interested in a collaboratively dynamic process to make this production artistically exceptional.
