Description:
"Sushi Arcade" is an offbeat, sci-fi, thriller about an aspiring dream creator named Reed Rota who seeks to create a dream that will inspire people and bring joy to the world... all peoples, all nations. There is only one problem. Reed will need a Red Paper to realize his dream...and all he has is a Blue Paper.
Breakdown:
Role Name | Gender | Ethnicity | Age Range | Description |
---|---|---|---|---|
Herman | Male | Any | 20-35 | Herman is Reed's closest friend in the big city. A soft spoken sort of intellectual, Herman is not too self-aware but is nonetheless the smartest person in the room… in this film at least. Herman tells it like it is - but usually in a casual and quiet manner. Think "Kip" in Napoleon Dynamite. One would assume just by looking at him, that he has major B.O. and probably a vast collection of Magic: The Gathering playing cards at home. |
Kenneth | Male | Any | 20-35 | Kenneth is basically an idiot. He is the kind of person who genuinely thinks he is intelligent and smarter than most people. However, after five minutes with him, you just assume he never made it through 8th grade. Kenneth’s dry and bland delivery of his clueless thoughts throughout the film keep him interesting and funny. The character Dave from Flight of the Conchords is a bit of an inspiration. |
Narrator | Male | Any | 50-70 | The Narrator is a gentle old soul. Think Orson Welles in the film F is For Fake. The narrator is akin to your 6-year-old perception of Santa Claus. He’s jolly and wise, but he’s also very serious about what is at stake in this film. What this role needs first and foremost is presence. Although the character is primarily the narrator and is mostly just heard, the character does actually appear on screen as well. |
Olivia | Female | Any | 20-30 | A determined scientist who is following the movements of a giant beast in the city. Although very attractive, she has a bristly personality and speaks in an analytical and calculated way - similar to the kind of performance you might see from any of the characters in 2001: A Space Odyssey. |
Commissioner | Male | Any | 40-60 | The city commissioner. Heavy set. A naive yet wise-guy type persona. He is in over his head as his city is in trouble. Very "by the rule book". Humorless. |
William | Male | Any | 20-40 | Assistant to Olivia, a Tony Hale or Bill Hader type. |
