Edge of the Wood Theatre, 6736 N Loleta Avenue, Chicago, announces auditions for its Resident Theatre production of PRIDE AND PREJUDICE, adapted by Janet Munsil. Auditions held on July 9 and 10 from 7-9pm in the theatre at the Edgebrook Community Church.
JANE BENNET (22) sweetest and most beautiful of the Bennet sisters.
ELIZABETH BENNET (20) the most forthright and quick-witted. Plays a very little piano.
MARY BENNET/GEORGIANA DARCY Mary (18-19) is the most earnest and studious of the Bennet sisters. Plays piano badly.
Georgiana (16-17) is the gentle and musically inclined sister of Mr. Darcy.
KITTY BENNET (16-17) the most easily influenced.
LYDIA BENNET (15) the most flirtatious.
MRS. BENNET (40-55) wants to marry off her daughters.
CHARLOTTE LUCAS (20-30) particular friend of Elizabeth, more rational than emotional.
CAROLINE BINGLEY (20-30) Mr. Bingley's sister, proudly elegant.
LADY CATHERINE/MRS. REYNOLDS (40-65). Lady Catherine is rich and used to getting her way. Mrs. Reynolds is the devoted housekeeper to the Darcys.
MRS. GARDINER (35-55) insightful and affectionate wife to Mr. Gardiner and aunt to the Bennet sisters.
MR. BENNET (40-60) who would prefer to be left alone in his library.
MR. GARDINER (40-60), Mrs. Bennet's kindly and intelligent brother, in trade in London.
