Description:
Zero Charisma is an indie comedy about nerds, hipsters, and everyone inbetween. Principal photography will take place in Spring, 2012
Breakdown:
Role Name | Gender | Ethnicity | Age Range | Description |
---|---|---|---|---|
Miles | Male | Any Ethnicity | 25-30 | Very fashionable, charismatic young man who also happens to be into comic books, fantasy & sci-fi. Smart, funny, attractive and intimidatingly cool. King of the neo-nerd hipsters, Miles is the villain of the piece, so to speak, so also must be capable of subtle aggression and veiled malice. |
Pete | Male | Any Ethnicity | 31-40 | The assistant manager of the local game and comic shop, Pete enjoys his high status amongst the gamer culture, and prides himself on his sharp business acumen. Heavy-set, unkempt, his personality is very much like “The Comic Book Guy” from the Simpsons. |
Wanda | Female | Caucasian | >60 | Protagonist’s grandmother, Wanda appears very old and fragile, though her mind and tongue are as sharp as ever. Consistently critical and condescending, she spares no one’s feelings in always speaking her mind, and her mind is typically negative. However, despite a thorny exterior, she is caring, and tries to do what’s best for her progeny (or at least thinks she does). |
Barbara | Female | Caucasian | 41-50 | Protagonist’s mother (and Wanda’s daughter), Barbara was a reckless, hard-partying blonde bombshell in her youth, who is now (apparently) reformed and trying to settle down, though her true agenda is somewhat suspect. Her sweet, loving facade often cracks to reveal selfishness and vitriol beneath. Open to applicants over 50. |
Bob | Male | Caucasian | 51-60 | Barbara’s new fiance, Bob is a middle-America, blue-collar contractor, a man of few words who lets Barbara do his talking. Average build, conservative in style, someone who looks like they’ve worked with their hands most of their life. |
Greg Goran | Male | Caucasian | >60 | The self-described “Godfather of Table-top Gaming,” Greg Goran is a legend amongst gamers for his role in the origins of role-playing games in the 1960s. Now in his senior years, Greg is bored, boorish and condescending, but continues to make appearances at conventions and Q&As for the revenue they offer. Nonetheless, Greg is a nerd at heart, and a vision of what our main characters might be like 40 years from now. |
Kendra | Female | Any Ethnicity | 25-30 | Miles live-in girlfriend, Kendra is a very liberal, open, attractive young woman. Free-spirited in appearance and demeanor, she can make some men uncomfortable with her beauty and familiarity. Open to applicants under 25. |
Mrs. Yi | Female | Asian | 41-50 | The owner and proprietor of the Chinese take-out/donut shop, Mrs. Yi is fed up with the incompetence, laziness and light fingers of her employee. Loud, brash, and not afraid to tell it like it is. Chinese accent required. |
Senior Community Resident | 0 | Any Ethnicity | >60 | Casting 5-6 actors of any gender or race to play residents of retirement community. (Speaking roles) |
Ulrich | Male | Caucasian | 31-40 | A fantasy warrior come to life. Ruggedly Handsome, long hair. Open to applicants over 40. |
