|Project Title||"Rocket Robinson Meets the Double Daring Devil"|
Part of Hollywood Casting and Film's internship program! A tribute to the superhero and action film serials of the 1930s and 1940s, while also doing what the filmmakers of the time could only dream of! Goals include to expand this short film into a miniseries as well as other multimedia, so I would prefer someone who would be committed to expanding these roles in the near future. 1939: Tuskegee Institute student scientist NICK "ROCKET" ROBINSON has just become a true-to-life rocketman after meeting refugees from the planet Venus, and has been tasked with tracking down Axis spies in America. Meanwhile in Los Angeles, ARTHUR CHANG, a Nissei chauffeur pretending to be Cantonese to better blend in, moonlights as the vigilante DOUBLE DARING DEVIL, with the assistance of his sidekick PERRY CHASE, a journalist, newsreel star, and heir to the vast Chase Publishing empire, someday. After an incident at the 1939 World's Fair, the Double Daring Devil mistakes Rocket Robinson for a Nazi saboteur, and makes a plan with Perry to stop the rocketman by any means necessary.
|Role Name||Gender||Ethnicity||Age Range||Description|
|Nick "Rocket" Robinson||Male||African American||18-29||I AM INTENDING TO FIND SOMEONE FOR THIS ROLE WHO IS OPEN TO FURTHER EXPANDING UPON THE CHARACTER, THIS WOULD INCLUDE FUTURE PAID PROJECTS, AS WELL AS LIGHT MERCHANDISING. A young science student at the Tuskegee Institute, who happens to be the perfect size to use a rocketpack owned by Doctor George Washington Carver, who happened to receive it from a refugee from the planet Venus! Nick Robinson, who earns the nickname Rocket from his exploits, has been tasked with stopping Axis spies in the United States, as well as keeping the country safe while maintaining a low profile, by his mentor Dr. Carver.|
|Ichiro Hamamoto/"Arthur Chang"/The Double Daring Devil||Male||Asian||25-40||I AM INTENDING TO FIND SOMEONE FOR THIS ROLE WHO IS OPEN TO FURTHER EXPANDING UPON THE CHARACTER, THIS WOULD INCLUDE FUTURE PAID PROJECTS, AS WELL AS LIGHT MERCHANDISING. A Japanese Nissei (second generation Japanese-American) with mysterious military experience, who hides his origins by claiming to be of Cantonese descent. Accomplished in martial arts, wrestling, climbing buildings, and combat driving, and also a marksman with a boomerang. While he works as a chauffeur for newspaper heir Perry Chase, "Arthur" moonlights as the vigilante "The Double Daring Devil," with Chase working as his sidekick. I would prefer an actor of Japanese descent for the role, however it is open to all Asian male actors.|
|Perry Chase/The Press Guardian||Male||Caucasian||18-30||I AM INTENDING TO FIND SOMEONE FOR THIS ROLE WHO IS OPEN TO FURTHER EXPANDING UPON THE CHARACTER, THIS WOULD INCLUDE FUTURE PAID PROJECTS, AS WELL AS LIGHT MERCHANDISING. A young, yet accomplished journalist, who is often disregarded as riding the coattails of his father, who owns Chase Publishing. His father doesn't want him to take on "serious" news cases, and often relegates him to narrating the newsreels of their newfound film department. However, with the help of his supposed chauffeur Arthur Chang, Perry Chase moonlights as the vigilante "Press Guardian," sidekick to the Double Daring Devil. The Devil is training Chase to become a marksman, and while the Devil sees themselves as equals, Chase often feels his skillset makes him the sidekick of the two. A deconstruction of the "millionaire playboy" superhero seen all-too-often in the comic books and movies of old, as well as today.|
|Joe, Director||Male||Any||18-40||I AM INTENDING TO FIND SOMEONE FOR THIS ROLE WHO IS OPEN TO FURTHER EXPANDING UPON THE CHARACTER, THIS WOULD INCLUDE FUTURE PAID PROJECTS, AS WELL AS LIGHT MERCHANDISING. A film director based out of Los Angeles, who wants to do more artistic work, however takes work whenever possible. Currently, he works as a director of newsreels at Chase Publishing, where his boss, Perry Chase, is considered riding his dad's coattails, but Joe truly knows he's a great guy with an amazing work ethic for journalism. Joe is not a superhero, let alone a rocketman, but is brave enough to ask the boss if they'll be able to get a rocketpack to use for the news team. Should be okay with smoking a cigarette, although an herbal one could be used.|
