Description:
Logline: A med school student struggles to care for his younger brother, who is enduring the side effects of his chemotherapy.
Hello! I’m Michael Lino Gonzales, I’m a senior film/video major from the University of Texas at Arlington.
I’m currently casting for my short film, “Julian and the Testicular Fiend”, for my Advanced Film/Video course.
We will be shooting Saturday, October 8th and Sunday, October 9th at a house in Mansfield.
There will be two, two-hour rehearsals during the week of September 26th-September 30th at the convenience of both actors (this will be at the same place as the auditions), and a make-up/screen test on October 1st at the Set Location.
There will be free food and drink on all days, plus DVD copies of the completed project for the actors to use for their reel, although I cannot provide monetary compensation.
The auditions will be held Friday, September 23th, from 5pm-10-pm at the UTA Fine Arts Building, room 156.

Breakdown:
Role Name | Gender | Ethnicity | Age Range | Description |
---|---|---|---|---|
Julian Gomez | Male | South American/Latino | 25-30 | JULIAN GOMEZ, Hispanic, 23, is a medical school student that has returned home for the summer to care for his younger brother. He is a natural leader, aspiring to be a great general practitioner, yet unable to feel competent in taking care of his younger brother. |
Warren Gomez | Male | South American/Latino | 18-24 | WARREN GOMEZ, Hispanic, 20, is a testicular cancer patient receiving a BEC treatment for his chemotherapy. As harrowing as the side effects of the treatment on his mind and body were, Warren had coped as best as he could, but now the side effects have become unmanageable. He's more concerned with making sure his brother and the rest of his family aren't concerned with his problems. ** The role of Warren will have to have their head shaved on set or, if bald already, will be fitted for a wig** |
